O’Connor’s Bar & Grill presents Irish Music Sessions

In the hopes of offering ‘grand craic’, O’Connor’s Bar & Grill is set to host its inaugural Traditional Irish Music Sessions tonight (Friday, May, 8).

From 9pm, the lively Irish-inspired venue, which is located within Sefton Park Hotel, will welcome the renowned folk musicians Anam during its first instalment. The event will thereon take place on the second Friday of each month and will showcase a series of fresh acts.

Chief Executive Conor O’Donovan said: “As an Irish eatery and bar, it felt only natural to introduce a fitting music event to add to the vibrant ambience and good cheer.

“By offering a platform for Irish musicians, we are able to provide them with a stage to perform their original material and offer something a little different to our guests.

“Ireland has a massive music scene but has managed to hold onto its traditional values as well. Unlike other traditional music, Irish folk music is popular with both the older generation and young people nowadays so we hope that the monthly event will become highly sought-after by all.“

In addition to the Traditional Irish Music Sessions, O’Connor’s Bar & Grill will also offer a stage for local musicians during the last Saturday of each month – forthcoming acts include the acclaimed bands, Box Of and Will Power.

Since opening in the latter of 2014, O’Connor’s has continued to offer authentic charm and heritage with its Irish-themed décor, contemporary-classic menus, and also recently played host to an exclusive five-day St. Patrick’s Festival.

Conor added: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming a selection of music talent, as it’s a chance to celebrate the culture links between Liverpool and Ireland. After all, Liverpool is often referred to as ‘the real capital of Ireland’!”

The Traditional Irish Music Sessions will take place on Friday, May 8 from 9pm – admission is free.
