Business invites local parents to help disadvantaged children

To launch the company’s free-to-use online reading test, Everybody Learns - a company dedicated to supporting children with their literacy skills - is calling on parents and their children in Leeds to help disadvantaged children in a truly unique way. For every child using the free reading test on Sunday 10th May, Everybody Learns will donate a set of workbooks to a disadvantaged child.

Everybody Learns is urging parents to get involved on Sunday 10th May to ensure as many local children benefit as possible. As part of the donation, Everybody Learns is linking up with local organisation Beanstalk, a local charity dedicated to supporting children based in Leeds, who will distribute the donated workbooks to children who need extra support.

In addition, as part of the launch on May 10th, the first 50 children to use the test, and who require extra reading support, will receive three months free access to the Lexia Home Reading Course. The course, which is designed to help children to catch up with and progress their reading skills in a fun, but structured way, has been designed by teachers, in an effort to address the poor reading standards across the UK.

Arthur Staples, Founder of Everybody Learns, commented: “The reading ability of many children across the UK is alarmingly low, and we are absolutely committed to changing this. We have launched our free-to-use online reading test to help parents assess their child’s reading capabilities in a fun and objective way. The test shows parents how their child’s reading is progressing related to the English National Curriculum on a term by term basis.”

Arthur continued: “Reading skills are essential to a child’s success, so we’re trying to spread the message as far and wide as possible. The reading test is completely free to use, and for every child that uses it on May 10th we’ll donate a set of workbooks to a disadvantaged child. All we need is five minutes of your time to make a fantastic impact on disadvantaged children’s lives in the local area, whilst also ensuring your own child gets the support they might need!”
