New PK app launched to the help Newcastle’s teachers to find their perfect role

Supply teachers and cover supervisors in Newcastle will now be able to find their perfect role at the tip of their fingers, thanks to a new app developed by the region’s leading supply teacher agency, PK education.

A recent survey by the Association of School and College Leaders shows that 25%* of schools in the North East currently have vacancies in core subjects. The survey also showed 86%* of respondents reported difficulty in recruiting for core subject. In order to place quality candidates with the right schools PK education, based on Collingwood Street, has developed a new teacher recruitment app.

With more than 50%** of website traffic now being driven by mobile devices alone and 80%*** of job-hunters starting their search on a mobile device the new app ensures roles with PK education are more accessible than ever.

The new app, which is free to download on all devices, has been designed to make it easier for supply teachers to search for their perfect teaching role and keep on top of their favourite roles.

The app gives users a variety of useful features including the ability to:

Browse, search and apply for roles Create a profile and set preferences Receive alerts for relevant vacancies Request a call from a consultant Save favourite jobs Upload CV and other documents Keep up-to-date with PK education and industry news

Users are able to register their details, quickly and easily through the new app. Users can also select preferences to ensure only relevant job vacancies are delivered to them as soon as they go live.

Neil Gallagher, Director of PK education Newcastle, said: “With supply teachers in demand from schools more than ever due to an increasing teacher shortage this app will further help us attract quality candidates to fulfil the growing number of vacancies.

“A recent survey by Jibe showed that 80%** of job-hunters were starting their job search on a mobile device, which means now is a more important time than ever to ensure job postings are mobile-accessible.”
