A superhero take over for Northside

A local truck and van dealership is suiting up to support Cash for Kids as they take part in Superhero Day on 15 May.

Doncaster’s award-winning Northside Truck and Van, a franchise of the Mercedes-Benz Commercial Vehicle Dealer Group, is partnering up with their local Cash for Kids to carry out a number of fundraising activities throughout the day to raise funds for and awareness around the issues faced by children in the area.

With dealerships also in Sheffield, Bradford, Leeds, York, Immingham and Hull, the group will sponsor three of the directors to dress up as superheroes for the entire day and have pledged to raise £500 per site.

Northside Truck and Van will be partaking in a number of games and activities including, a Kryptonite Disposer Race and a phone booth dress up challenge along with dusting off their capes and channelling their inner superheroes. Expect to see Wonder Woman, Superman, Spiderman and even a Batwoman at a Northside dealership this Friday.

The team at their Immingham site will also be having a cake sale this week to kick-start the fundraising activities.

Cash for Kids is Viking FM’s and Bauer Radio’s network of charities, which operates across 21 regions in the UK. It was set up to benefit local children by responding to the needs of each charity’s young community. The goal of Cash for Kids is to support disabled, disadvantaged and vulnerable children.

Dealer Principal, Tim Ward, said: “We are taking part in this year’s Superhero Day to help the children in our local communities as well as having a little fun with the team at the same time. For one day the group can take off their suits and overalls to reveal the true heroes that they are.

“We have chosen to support Cash for Kids as the money we raise on behalf of our region’s charities will stay in the local areas. We would really like to see everyone get behind our fundraising drive and support us by joining in on 15 May. Together we can raise the sort of money that will help make a real difference to the children in each community.

“It’s time for Northside to mask-up and reveal their super powers!” Tim added.
