Children’s charity to streamline financial reporting with Exchequer
Toybox, a UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of children living and working on the streets in Latin America, has selected an accounting system and mobile app from Advanced Exchequer (Advanced) to streamline financial processes and reporting. The organisation will go live with the solutions in July 2015.
The Advanced software was selected from three other software providers to deliver the charity’s new accounts system due to its superior functionality and competitive pricing.
Toybox is a UK charity with a mission to end the injustice of street children, one of the world’s most vulnerable groups. In the countries where Toybox currently works (El Salvador, Guatemala, Bolivia, Peru, Nicaragua) often these children are living in the shadows of some of the most dangerous and violent criminal gangs in the world, constantly at risk of being recruited into gang life – or suffering at their hands.
Toybox works to prevent children becoming street involved, rescuing them from the street and restoring their self-esteem and resilience. The charity, which is expanding its work into India and Kenya, has chosen eXchequer 365, a mobile app which integrates with the Exchequer core accounting system and enables managers to approve payments without being in the office.
The accounting system will reduce the time taken to produce financial reports by replacing laborious processes which required financial data to be extracted and re-formatted in Excel. The finance team will now benefit from automated reporting, enabling them to quickly and easily access key information and create reports at the click of a button.
Caroline Taylor, Director of Finance and Support Services at Toybox, says, “We are aiming for increased efficiencies within the finance team and the new system will also help to ensure all data is as accurate and up-to-date as possible.”
The accounting system will also integrate with Toybox’s customer relationship management (CRM) system. Data from the CRM system should be easily transferred into Exchequer, giving the accounts team a holistic view of the organisation.
Caroline says, “With the richer functionality of Exchequer we will have greater visibility across the organisation’s entire finances at our fingertips. The ability of key staff to quickly drill down through comprehensive financial information will save time and ensure we are operating as efficiently and professionally as possible.
“Time that would previously have been spent on manually producing reports can now be spent on analysing that information. As a charity we are growing and working to help more children in more countries, and this technology will support our expansion by providing simple, quick extraction and analysis of key financial intelligence.”
