Foster Industrial Attracts Another Bright Spark
As the manufacturing sector continues to go from strength-to-strength a specialist welding supplies firm has attracted a new salesman with an impressive track record in the fabrication industry.
Rob Foster (30) has joined East Midlands premium welding supplier Foster Industrial. Having almost 15 years in welding, fabrication and engineering sales Rob started his career as an apprentice welder and fabricator before achieving a foundation degree in manufacturing engineering.
As a new Regional Sales Manager at Foster Industrial Rob will be working with manufacturing and engineering firms across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire.
Rob’s appointment comes as SME manufacturers continue to report increases in total domestic orders, output and numbers employed in the three months to April according to the latest CBI SME Trends Survey.
Foster Industrial is the UK’s longest established distributor of welding and cutting equipment and supplies. The family run business, established in 1886 is based on a 15,000 sq. ft. site in Shepshed near Loughborough and provides both supplies and technical support to manufacturers across the East Midlands.
Still run by the great grandsons of the founder, Foster Industrial’s growing customer base includes the region’s top manufacturers, in sectors ranging from transport and aerospace, through to agriculture and shop fitting.
This latest investment in staff follows the appointment of a new Operations Director earlier this year.
Rob Foster commented on his appointment “I have known of Foster Industrial for many years and jumped at the chance to work with a firm with such an impressive reputation in the engineering sector.”
Rob started his career at ZMC Elecon Limited is a leading UK based manufacturer and distributor of conveyor chain. He has also worked at Gega Lotz, part of GeGa Group a leading worldwide provider of custom-built solutions in the steel industry. His last role was at Acres Engineering whose customers include Siemens, Toyota and Bombardier.
Charles Foster, Joint Managing Director said: “Rob is a great addition to the team here at Foster Industrial. He has an impressive skill set derived from his experience over the years working directly within our customer base in the region and compliments perfectly our approach to offer high end sales support to new and existing clients.”
Foster Industrial is one of the largest suppliers of industrial gases, welding, cutting and abrasive products and supplies over 7000 stock products. Its product range includes supply and support for leading international brands including Hypertherm, Miller, EWM, Oerlikon, Tyrolit & Sia Abrasives.
