Construction of Leeds Ring Road BMW and MINI retail centres near completion
The new state-of-the-art BMW and MINI retail centres, on Leeds Ring Road, has made huge developments after the external structures were installed.
Caddick Construction recently completed the shells of both buildings with external cladding now well underway as the completion date of the project closes in.
The new retail centres, which will see both BMW and MINI relocate from Sheepscar Interchange to the corner of Gelderd Road and Leeds Ring Road, are set to open this summer.
Caddick will now focus on the external cladding, which includes curtain walling and windows, while the drainage work nears completion, with the majority of kerbing now in place.
In addition, the large car park area has also been tarmacked.
Inside the buildings, the mechanical and electrical works are underway and decoration has also begun.
The new BMW & MINI retail centres will also incorporate dedicated BMW i, BMW M and MINI JCW customer areas, specifically designed to provide an environment where customers can explore the ranges much easier.
Neil Murray, project manager at Caddick Construction, said: “The construction of both retail centres is progressing well. The MINI roof was relatively simple to install due to the composite panel construction, but BMW roof was a more technical process.
“The built up insulation and single ply membrane was required to be completely dry to install but with Leeds experiencing better weather lately the team were able to move ahead quite quickly.”
Trevor Fussey, national franchise director of Stratstone BMW & MINI, commented: “It’s gearing up to be an exciting time as we prepare to move into this excellent new facility which will enable us to ensure outstanding levels of customer service.
“We are very much looking forward to welcoming customers into the new home of BMW and MINI in Leeds.”
