Ithica Films expands to Middlesbrough’s Digital Business City
A North East film production company has celebrated a successful first year of trading by moving into a larger office.
Ithica Films has grown substantially since first opening for business in April last year, and as a result has relocated to Middlesbrough’s Digital Business City.
Over the last 12 months, the company has worked on projects covering a range of sectors including the NHS, Education, Kickstarter films, Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing and Training.
Director of Ithica Films, Matt McGough, said: “The company has grown rapidly in its first year and we’re well ahead of where we expected to be at this stage.
“This will be the third move since Ithica Films was set up, so we wanted to go somewhere that had a buzz about it and that’s why we have chosen what is considered to be the digital, creative and business hub of the Tees Valley.
“Boho One feels like the right place for us to be, it has the facilities we need and gives us the flexibility to be able to grow without looking for our next space.”
As well as expanding its work space, the new premises could allow Ithica Films to add to the current team of five employees and also maintain its strong links with Teesside University - offering film students the chance of work placements.
Matt credits Ithica Films’ successful year down to the talent of his team and the high level of service they offer all their clients.
He said: “We pride ourselves on creating fantastic films for clients and being very focussed on customer service, as well as incorporating innovative tools and techniques to create great films.
“Seeing the company expand makes me very proud and I’m really looking forward to what we’ll be able to produce six months from now.
“We’ve got some exciting developments taking place later in the year, including potential broadcast TV and short film work to come in autumn, so there’s a great deal of anticipation at Ithica Films.”
Ithica Films will be operational from its new premises from June 1st and Matt is planning on hosting a party for clients and friends to celebrate the move.
