Connect with Birmingham at IMEX 2015

A rush of meetings executives and conference co-ordinators will descend on Frankfurt, Germany this week to attend IMEX 2015 – the global showcase of meetings and conventions.

IMEX will host thousands of exhibitors, events bureaus, events managers and industry networkers, incentivised to absorb expert advice and to sign up new business. Self-styled as ‘run by meetings professionals for meetings professionals’, IMEX guests tend to range from governmental institutions to PR agencies. In other words, one of the world’s busiest international airport hubs is about to get even busier.

So, crucially, how can UK businesses find the perfect hosts and destinations for their upcoming conferences?

Worldwide, businesses of all sizes work with comprehensive event support teams to ensure their corporate events are fully co-ordinated to suit budget, timings and style.

Meet Birmingham, as an organisation which facilitates event planning, venue finding and accommodation booking throughout the city, will be one of the exhibitors attending the show. In conjunction with the Birmingham Convention Bureau, Meet Birmingham specialises in logistics and planning support for businesses looking to use one of an array of citywide venues for conventions, shows or symposia. Even Birmingham Airport – the UK’s third largest airport outside London – reported its busiest year ever in 2014 and Emma Gray, Director of Marketing Services at Meet Birmingham, spoke on the city’s growing connectivity and the value of IMEX:

“IMEX offers an unrivalled opportunity for us to meet face to face with event organisers and contacts looking for well-equipped and connected locations for their events. Last year we saw £2.5million worth of enquiries generated for the area’s hospitality sector from similar discussions.”

Birmingham retained its position as the primary UK events destination outside London in the annual British Meetings & Events Industry Survey (BMEIS 2014/15). The city also moved up 14 places in the global rankings of meeting destinations, and, as of early May, is now ranked at 122 (ICCA, 2014).

From tomorrow, Frankfurt will transform into the events capital of the world, providing a platform for delegates across industries to share insights with trade visitors and business representatives seeking venue location assistance.

IMEX 2015 is the leading global exhibition for meetings and events, and if you would like to join event organisers from the US, France and Germany and speak to Meet Birmingham during the trade show, delegates will be exhibiting at stand F340.
