Sparkling afternoon in store with North-East icon Denise Welch
Two British institutions are set to come together to raise money for Variety the Children’s charity this month.
Former Coronation Street star Denise Welch is to team up with cups of Earl Grey and appear at the Hilton Hotel Newcastle-Gateshead for a sparkling afternoon tea in her home region.
Welch, who appeared in the long-running soap from 1997-2000, is a patron of the charity after being awarded the prestigious silver heart award from Variety’s North East branch in 2009.
Now, the local hero is set to return to the region for a day of tea, coffee and bubbles. The event, arranged for Friday 29th May, is set to begin at 2.00pm and will run on to 5.00pm.
Tea is to be served along with sandwiches followed by glasses of champagne to provide the sparkle for the event, which is sure to be filled with stories from Denise’s storied career in acting and show business and is sure to be a fun filled, relaxing afternoon on Tyneside.
Tickets for the sparkling afternoon tea with Denise Welch are priced at 35.00 each with complimentary fizz on arrival and afternoon tea. They can be reserved by calling Variety, the Children’s Charity on 0191 214 5959 or 07939 031405 or for more information contact the charity at north.variety.org.uk. All money raised will go to Variety, the Children’s Charity.
