Local Accountancy firm demonstrates commitment to the community
Lancashire based MJH Accountants are certainly committed to giving back to the local community, who they believe have played a significant role in their company’s growth. Since relocating to new offices in February 2014, the company has doubled its client base.
Managing Director of MJH, Mark Hall is a keen sportsman and took part in the gruelling Keswick to Barrow Walk with his wife Laura a couple of weeks ago. They completed the 40- mile walk in less than 10.5 hours, raising much needed funds for Cumbrian charities. Mark has also just participated in the 75 mile St Catherine’s Big Charity Bike Ride.
As a dedicated cyclist, Mark is proud to be sponsoring the GHP European Factory Race Team. GHP are an elite racing team boasting world class riders who are currently leading in the British team standings. Mark says, “As a keen cyclist myself I feel it is important to support local groups who are partaking in this energetic, exciting and engaging sport. The group members range from 6 to 45 years old, demonstrating that cycling is truly a sport for all!”
Continuing their support of young people, MJH is now recruiting for a Business and Administration Apprentice to support their Practice Manager Andrea Moore. This follows their successful investment in 18 year old Sophie Paget who joined the company last summer as a Trainee Accountant. Sophie commented, “I am really enjoying the combination of learning through Runshaw College whilst gaining practical experience in a professional environment. I feel I’ve got the perfect balance.”
The team has recently received recognition for its commitment and success, when it was ‘highly recommended’ in the North West Insider Young Professionals Awards. The team has also been short-listed for the prestigious BIBAS, in the category “Professional Service Business of the Year”.
Mark continued, “We are growing quickly as a firm and genuinely appreciate the support that we have received from local people. We like to do whatever we can to offer something back to groups and individuals striving to overcome challenges. We hope we can make a real difference to them.”
