Persimmon Homes helps ease Lindsay’s moving stress
They say moving house is one of the most stressful times of your life – and that pressure is multiplied when there is a complicated sale involved as well.
Lindsay Westrope wanted to move closer to her daughter Kate in Saffron Walden after losing her husband Stuart 18 months ago.
But first she had to negotiate the sale of her shares in the family haulage business and to sell the land on which it stood. Eventually Mrs Westrope managed to sell the land along with her house – and she was then able to purchase her dream home at Persimmon Homes’ Tudor Park development.
Mrs Westrope praised staff at Persimmon Homes for their help and patience during the taxing period.
“The sale of the land and my shares made it particularly stressful,” said Lindsay, aged 58.
“But the sales adviser at Tudor Park, Lynn, was very helpful. I couldn’t have asked for more.
“She understood my situation and worked with me to ensure that I had the time to tie up all of the loose ends.”
Mrs Westrope, a paying patient officer at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, bought a Seymour style, four bedroom detached property and moved in last month.
She added: “I wanted a new house and just loved the layout of the Seymour. I looked at three bedroom properties but I liked the four bed because it means I have more space downstairs.
“It’s a lovely little town and my neighbours are very friendly. There is a nice community growing here.”
There are a range of three and four bedroom houses available to view at Tudor Park. There are a number of schemes and incentives to help people either onto the first rung of the property ladder, or to make the next step, including the Government-backed Help to Buy initiative and Persimmon Homes’ Part Exchange scheme.
If people have a property to sell then Persimmon’s Home Change service can be used. Persimmon Homes will market the old property with no agent fees or valuation costs. Persimmon’s sales advisers will help explain how it works.
Tudor Park is made up of 130 new three and four bedroom houses, both detached and semi-detached, with drives, garages, car ports and ensuite bathrooms.
