Expanding Wallsend recruitment agency sees turnover treble
A Wallsend-based recruitment consultancy has almost trebled its turnover from £1.1m last year to £3.2m this year.
Labour4U (L4U), set up by Newcastle-based Jon Bell and Sunderland entrepreneur Tony Griffiths, has been supplying staff to a range of sectors including hospitality, construction and the gas and oil business since its launch in 2013.
From a modest start with just a couple of staff two years ago, L4U recently expanded into bigger offices at Cobalt Business Park, Wallsend to accommodate its 11 strong team.
Jon Bell said: “The growth rate has been astonishing and I believe that this purely down to the quality of the staff that we have been able to provide.
“Our client base continues to grow and we’ve supplied employees not just in the UK but across the world.”
That has included contracts as diverse as providing electricians to work in Italy and gold leaf painters to work on a palace in the Middle East.
Future plans include the setting up of a division to service the healthcare and logistics sectors along with an office based in Rotterdam to service the oil and gas industry.
“We are delighted with how the business is developing and the rate of growth which has outstripped what we anticipated,” added Jon.
