IPI tightens security portfolio with acquisition of Acenseo

IP Integration, the leading independent systems integrator, has further strengthened its portfolio of market-leading IT and telecommunications services by acquiring IT security services provider, Acenseo, for an undisclosed sum. The move adds further depth and breadth to IP Integration’s wide range of technology and consultative solutions.

Acenseo has a strong pedigree in delivering tailored secure access solutions to private but primarily public sector organisations, leveraging frameworks which include G-Cloud Digital Marketplace. The main solution in its cloud portfolio is ‘Ascend ID’, an award-winning private cloud-based two-factor authentication solution, based on VASCO technology, which allows users to generate ‘One Time Passwords’ for securely accessing network resources, web applications and portals using the largest suite of hardware, software, smartphone, SIM or SMS based tokens available in the market. This enables organisations to implement an effective Secure Identity Management strategy without the capital investment or human resources required to execute, support and manage in-house solutions.

Commenting on the acquisition, Joe Prentis, CEO, IP Integration, said, “IP Integration is focused on driving growth over the coming years by delivering solutions that help our customers interact, collaborate and succeed through innovative use of our comprehensive product portfolio and professional services. We are trusted to deliver the mission-critical infrastructure of many of the country’s leading brands and, as such, bringing Acenseo into our group adds further depth to our IT security line up and complements our existing IT Services offerings, enabling us to deliver an even more rich solution to our customers.”

Lee Harrison, MD, Acenseo added, “Having the support of IP Integration behind the Acenseo brand presents us with tremendous opportunities in the market. The IPI and Acenseo portfolios blend together well, allowing us to educate and support our clients more broadly with their Network, Security and Telecommunications challenges and requirements by offering increased specialist expertise and greater depth of more flexible, scalable and cost-effective solutions.”

The team at Acenseo will move across to IP Integration with immediate effect and will be based at the company offices in Reading, Berkshire. This will enable them to be supported by the company’s Operations team, based in its state of the art Network Operations Centre that offers proactive network monitoring and maintenance for its customers throughout the world.

Commenting on the acquisition, Christian Hertsens, Director Sales, End-to-End Authentication EMEA/LAM at VASCO, said, “Although Acenseo’s customers will continue to receive the same great service from us both as before, this move will provide them with the reassurance of stability that comes from working with a larger organisation and they will be able to receive a broader range of supporting solutions which we see will only benefit them.”
