Cintra Celebrate winning COCO Coast and Castles Crown

Five thousand pounds, 180 miles, 15 sore bottoms and one trophy!

Gateshead based Cintra HR & Payroll Services, award winning UK leader in flexible payroll and HR systems, is celebrating after winning the COCO Coast and Castles cycle challenge.

Tyneside based international charity Comrades of Children Overseas (COCO), founded by former world 1500-metre champion Steve Cram, helps to fund education and healthcare initiatives that make a big difference to the lives of children living in poverty throughout the developing world.

COCO’s sustainable approach is akin to Cintra’s own philosophy and the company are staunch supporters of COCO’s work: an amazing five teams of Cintra staff joined in the challenge, as part of Cintra’s commitment to raise £15,000 for COCO this year, to celebrate its 15th anniversary. After this challenge, the fundraising total stands at an impressive £5,000, with 12 events to go.

This commitment is a great example of the corporate conscience that saw Cintra awarded CSR Scheme of the Year in the Pay & Benefits Awards earlier this year, which recognised Cintra’s innovative and company-wide approach to CSR.

Commenting on the win, Cintra CEO Carsten Staehr said:

“We are absolutely delighted! The main aim of taking part is obviously to support COCO and raise money and awareness to assist their amazing efforts, however there was a healthy level of competition amongst the teams and for Cintra to bring home the crown after a pretty gruelling weekend is fantastic.”

“At Cintra helping others is truly a part of our culture. In this age of social awareness, most organisations pay lip service, saying that they support charitable causes in some form. At Cintra however, we believe that our level of staff engagement shows that it really is a part of our company DNA. In addition to the dedication of the Cintra cyclists, many staff members gave up their Sunday afternoon to be at the finish line to welcome their colleagues home.”

“Yes we have a great product, and yes we provide great service but the passion and effort our staff demonstrate in their desire to make a difference to the wider community is what I believe genuinely sets us apart. I could not be more proud.”
