VIPs toast success for Barratt at Phoenix Quarter

The Worshipful the Mayor of Dartford, Councillor Avtar Sandhu MBE performed the official opening duties at Phoenix Quarter, a development of new homes in Dartford with ribbon cutting and unveiling of a plaque.

He joined VIPs for the opening of the new Barratt Homes development which will provide a range of one to four bedroom homes and is already proving popular with buyers with a third of the first phase selling off-plan within the first few weeks.

Barratt Kent managing director Mark Bailey said he was delighted to officially launch the Barratt brand in Kent with such a key development.

“We have worked closely with the community and interested parties and we are delighted to demonstrate the importance of working in partnership,’’ said Mark. “We are initially building 90 private homes here and believe Phoenix Quarter is an important part of Dartford’s future footprint.”

The Mayor paid tribute to the new development which is creating valuable jobs for the area as well as new homes.

“I am delighted to welcome Barratt Homes to Dartford and to be involved in the official opening of Phoenix Quarter,’’ said the Mayor. “Around 150 people are working on this site every day which is great news for Dartford The standard of workmanship is extremely high, and will benefit the community of Dartford.’’

Barratt sales and marketing director Pam Reardon said the development close to Dartford station has been designed to give new home buyers the perfect opportunity to set up home in one of the region’s most sought after locations.

“Phoenix Quarter has attracted high levels of interest since we announced plans for the development and we have been selling strongly since we started selling off-plan. We are delighted to have officially opened on site and look forward to welcoming buyers to see what we have on offer here.’’ said Pam.

She said interest has been driven by the location, perfect for commuting to work and trips to renowned retail havens such as Bluewater. Phoenix Quarter also offers easy access to transport networks and the regenerated Thames Gateway.
