KF Training wins prestigious award after company restructure

ONE of the region’s leading training companies has won a prestigious award just weeks after completing a major restructure.

KF Training collected one of the top honours at the Seaward Supplier Awards, held annually to recognise the Peterlee-based electronic company’s supply chain which plays a part in its continued growth, both nationally and internationally.

KF Training, which was launched by Managing Director Kelly Lee in 2011, was presented with a Gold Award for the training it delivers in a range of areas including business improvement techniques, leadership and management, manufacturing and engineering and health and safety.

The award comes as the company, which is based at Whitehouse Business Park in Peterlee, prepares to implement its new strategic plans for growth following a review and restructure of its staff and services. Kelly Lee said: “In 2013 and 2014 we won the Silver Award so to go one better this year is testament to how far we’ve come as a company.

“The Seaward Supplier Awards are a prestigious celebration of businesses not only in the North East but nationally, so to be singled out for the support we’ve given the company is fantastic. As a team we’re extremely proud.

“Over the last few months we’ve looked at all elements of the business to put in place a team and structure which will ensure our continued growth over the coming months and years, so this award is particularly timely.”

KF Training was presented with the Gold Award at an event at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light, which was attended by 75 members of Seaward’s supply chain.

Ian West, Operations Director, said: “The aim of the awards is to highlight the contribution our supply chain makes in helping the Seaward Group deliver a world class service to our customers. The awards are a thank you to our supply chain based upon the their performance over the year. We hand out Gold, Silver and Bronze award which are based upon a set scoring system which looks at quality, service and technical support over the previous year.

“KF Training has consistently provided us with the highest level of training in a diverse range of areas so were worthy winners of the Gold Award.”

KF Training started with one office in Easington Business Centre and with sustained, targeted growth over the last three years has now brought all 35 staff together to work in one central location.

Turnover is expected to pass the £2.5m mark in the current financial year.

KF Training’s portfolio includes over 100 businesses across the North East and Yorkshire, from NSK Bearings, AKS Precision Ball and Sotech to Seaham Hall Hotel, JDR Cables, Wensleydale Creameries and PCT Limited.
