Barratt Development Scoops Building Excellence Award
A local Barratt Manchester development has scooped the prestigious title of ‘Best Large Housing Development of the Year’ in Wigan council’s LABC (Local Authority Building Control) Building Excellence Awards.
Blundell’s Wood, located on Foundry Lane in Wigan, received the accolade thanks to the high standard of construction which went above and beyond the requirements of the building regulations.
Site manager Stephen Penman and his team also impressed the judges with their professionalism, knowledge and consistent high quality work.
Site manager at Blundell’s Wood, Stephen Penman said: “This is an incredible achievement and the team and I are extremely proud to have been presented with the award. Blundell’s Wood has been a pleasure to build and I hope that the families moving in and living here enjoy the space as much as we do.”
John McNulty, Construction Director for Barratt Manchester, said: “Stephen and his team played a pivotal role developing excellent relationships with the local authority in Wigan. It’s great that the team’s hard work has been recognised by this award and it’s definitely thoroughly deserved.”
The award will be one of a number of achievements recognised this year by Barratt Manchester which achieved national recognition in March by achieving the maximum 5 stars in the industry’s annual customer satisfaction rating run by the Home Builders Federation, for the sixth year running.
