Union Industries Expands At Spectrum Park
LEEDS based manufacturing company Union Industries has significantly expanded its operations after letting 16,500 square feet of industrial space just off Hunslet Road at Spectrum Park, which is owned by Leeds-based property company Rushbond Plc.
Union Industries has signed a 10-year lease on the newly refurbished building at Spectrum Park, which is a 70,000 sq ft business park comprising of four industrial units that is also home to Land Rover dealership Farnell’s sales and service centres. Spectrum Park has been part of Rushbond’s extensive investment portfolio since 2008.
Union Industries is the UK’s leading manufacturer of high speed industrial doors and also produces a wide range of hazard protection and heat retention solutions as well as bespoke heavy duty fabric engineered products including industrial curtains, covers, tarpaulins, ropes, netting, mesh and ratchets. The company was established in 1972 and its head office is located close to Spectrum Park at Angel’s Wing on Whitehouse Street.
Richard Baker from Rushbond says: “Spectrum Park is just minutes away from both the motorway network and Leeds city centre, which makes it a highly sought after location. Union Industries is a very well-respected Leeds business with a strong local heritage and the company is already a major property occupier in this part of Leeds, which makes them a welcome addition to Spectrum Park so we’re delighted to be able to facilitate the company’s next phase of growth.”
Andrew Lane, Managing Director at Union Industries, says: “This latest expansion follows a very exciting few months at Union Industries. In November 2014, we became an Employee Owned company meaning every single employee now owns shares in the business which is great for everyone, especially as the improving economy is helping to drive demand for our products on a global scale, with both new and existing customers.
“Expanding our operations at Spectrum Park gives us an extremely high quality industrial space, conveniently located for Angel’s Wing, and it will enable us to service the increase in business that we are experiencing as we embark on our next phase of growth.”
