Lakeview awards finalist twice over
Lytham-based care home group Lakeview Rest Homes has been announced as a finalist in two categories in the highly coveted Be Inspired Business Awards (BIBAs).
The BIBAs celebrates the best of the best in Lancashire business, and following a two-stage shortlisting process Lakeview Rest Homes was selected by judges as a finalist in the Service Business and Medium Business of the Year categories.
Lakeview has already had a remarkable year, with the launch of a £5.8m phase two extension to its flagship care facility The Moorings. The ‘5 star luxury’ home, which has created 50 jobs, was also named the UK’s most outstanding care home redevelopment at the Over 50s Housing Awards.
The second phase includes an indoor bowling and putting green, a hydrotherapy spa with therapeutic Jacuzzi and mood lighting, a roof terrace with water fountains and a games room.
The first phase, which opened in December 2013 with 29 rooms, also features a hair and beauty salon, an on-site restaurant and chef and a 12-seater cinema.
The family-owned business was established in 1987 and runs four care homes in Lytham. Rosewood Lodge, Lakeview and Newfield Lodge are part of the Lakeview Rest Homes group, along with The Moorings.
Each category’s judging panel will now visit Lakeview Rest Homes to see the facilities first-hand and speak with the team and residents. They will visit all businesses to be named as a finalist and will then decide which should be crowned as overall winner at the glittering ceremony on 11 September at Blackpool Tower.
Nick Wood, managing director of Lakeview Rest Homes, said: “We are truly, truly blown away to be shortlisted in such a prestigious awards ceremony.
“We know we seek to offer the highest quality of care and outstanding facilities, and we take great pleasure in hearing from our residents and their families how they feel at home at Lakeview’s homes, but to be recognised amongst businesses from such a wide-range of sectors and be listed as one of the best in the county is a real moment in our history.
“The team has been the defining factor in Lakeview’s success. Our carers work tirelessly to put our resident’s independence, dignity and choice first, and I am delighted to be able to publically congratulate them on an exceptional year.”
