ENER-G innovation recognised in leading energy awards

Salford based ENER-G has been shortlisted for a major award for excellence in anaerobic digestion and biogas CHP generation.

The company has reached the finals of the UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards 2015 in the Innovation in process efficiency/optimisation category.

Judges for awards organisers the UK AD & Biogas Association have recognised ENER-G’s design, engineering and manufacturing talents in developing a market disruptive biogas CHP system for the small scale anaerobic digestion sector.

The new ENER-G E200 biogas CHP system opens up anaerobic digestion opportunities for smaller organisations, such as farms and diaries and industrial processors. The technology has achieved the difficult task of maximising heat efficiency without compromising on electrical efficiency.

The E-200 qualifies for the highest rate of both Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) and Feed in Tariff (FIT) - helping customers to stem the shortfall of ongoing FIT degression while increasing financial viability.

At current RHI and FIT rates, a typical dairy operating the E200 on a 24-hour cycle at 92% availability could receive a total guaranteed 20-year income of up to £5.7 million.

Laurence Stephenson, Sales Engineer for ENER-G Combined Power Ltd, said: “We are honoured to reach the finals of the UK AD & Biogas Industry Awards 2015. This is the equivalent of the Oscars for the anaerobic digestion sector. In developing our E-200 biogas CHP system we have overcome the incredibly difficult challenge of maximising CHP heat efficiency without reducing electricity efficiency”.

The Awards winners will be announced on 1 July 2015.
