CAP Automotive expands headquarters in Leeds’ Capitol office building

Car information experts, CAP Automotive Ltd, has expanded operations at its headquarters within Evans Property Group’s Capitol office building in Bond Court.

The firm now occupies a total space of 14,500 sq ft in Leeds City Centre.

Founded in 1979, CAP Automotive specialises in supplying used car valuation data and other essential services for the UK motor trade and consumers.

In November 2014, the firm was bought out by US-based company Solera Holdings Inc, a provider of risk and asset management software and services to the automotive and property marketplace.

After basing operations in Capitol for around 19 years, CAP Automotive’s 166-strong workforce presently occupy circa 11,000 sq ft over the second and fourth floors. The new lease will add a further 3,500 sq ft of newly refurbished space on the third floor, taking the firm’s total space within the building to 14,500 sq ft over four wings, which allows room for additional expansion in the future.

Evans Property Group recently began a major refurbishment programme at Capitol to create a new double height enlarged feature reception, external improvements to the windows and elevation, 20,000 sq ft of high quality office accommodation on the first and third floors in addition to a lift and stair core refurbishment and full common area modernisation.

CAP Automotive’s expansion follows the recent news that planning practice, Quod North, has relocated its Leeds office into Capitol.

Capitol falls into Evans Property Group’s interests in Bond Court, which include the newly refurbished Minerva office building and the forthcoming 90 bed 5* hotel. Evans is investing a total £20m in the regeneration of Bond Court which occupies the key central location connecting the city’s business and retail districts.

Ajay Handa, finance director at CAP Automotive Ltd, said: “Capitol has long been a successful home for our business. Proximity to great transport links and the city centre make it an ideal location for our growing teams of office staff and Evans’ investment into the building and the surrounding area further strengthens its appeal. “

Alan Syers, portfolio director at Evans Property Group, added: “It is fantastic news that one of Leeds’ leading businesses has chosen to commit to the city with more office space within Capitol. Our ambitious plans to transform Bond Court into a stylish urban destination are right on track and it is great to see both new and existing occupiers supporting our vision.”
