Connect first to sign up at new Lightbox offices

Newcastle’s Quorum Business Park has launched the Lightbox, a 60,000sqft office building aimed at North East SMEs looking for flexible, high quality work premises. The launch is boosted by news of the first major letting at the new scheme.

The first tenant to take up space is national physiotherapy business Connect, which has taken the entire second floor – a 17,061 sq ft space to allow for further expansion of its services and team.

The Lightbox marks a considerable investment for Quorum, The building is a high spec operation spread across four floors, offering a variety of rental space options from 5,000 sq ft upwards to full floors of 17,000sqft.

Currently housing 130 staff, the new premises on Quorum will be Connect Physiotherapy’s new headquarters, following its relocation from Cramlington, Northumberland.

Connect Physiotherapy’s Damian Stevenson said: “Moving into The Lightbox is an exciting milestone for Connect and we are pleased to be the building’s first new tenants. We have been looking for new premises for some time and when we came across the space at Quorum it ticked all the boxes thanks to its excellent facilities and location.”

Quorum Business Park is one of the largest and fastest growing business locations in the North East with over 500,000 sqft of office space and upwards of 5,000 jobs coming to the park over the last five years, giving a major boost to local jobs growth.

Norma Redfearn, Elected Mayor for North Tyneside said: “I’m delighted to welcome Connect Physiotherapy to the borough. This is yet another example of the diverse range of businesses North Tyneside is able to attract due to our excellent workforce and first-class office accommodation such as Quorum Business Park. We are pleased to have been able to support the company with its move to the area and would like to wish Connect every success with their future growth plans.”

The park is already home to a host of first class companies and organisations including Balfour Beatty, Tesco Bank, Cofely, Fabricom, Aesica Pharmaceuticals and British Engines, and has been particularly successful at attracting headquarters functions.

Quorum Director Fergus Trim added: “We’re really excited to be launching the Lightbox, and to do so on the back of a major letting to Connect is a great vote of confidence.

The Lightbox will appeal to the North East SME audience. We have recognised a market need for greater flexibility with office space amongst the region’s businesses for some time now, so it was the next natural step for the park.

“We’re thrilled to be welcoming Connect to Quorum and hope they will enjoy becoming part of life at Quorum.”
