Sunderland-based drinks companies merge to form Clearly Drinks LTD
Sunderland-based companies Contract Bottling Ltd (CBL Drinks) and Speaking Water Brands Ltd have merged to form Clearly Drinks LTD, an enlarged group with a growing enterprise value.
The new Group with its principal brand, Perfectly Clear flavoured water, is reported showing YOY growth of 20% and contributing about 40% of revenues across the Group. The contract bottling arm of the business is also showing impressive growth both nationally and internationally.
The manufacturing business has seen inward investment exceeding £2m in the past 12 months, with its site now operating two modern PET lines, a specialised glass line and a unique on-site spring water source.
The Group has significantly enlarged its distribution capacity in the UK and is currently exporting as far as the Middle East. The enlarged business also has additional portfolio IP, with further brand extensions to launch during 2015, whilst continuing to exploit organic growth and channels using its flexible manufacturing base.
Martin Thornton, Managing Director at Clearly Drinks, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity that creates a foundation for further expansion and business growth in all areas. Clearly Drinks looks set to go from strength to strength driven by investment in our facilities, customer service and our brands.”
The Group continues to trade within its structured divisions (CBL Drinks and Speaking Water) under the newly formed holding company, Clearly Drinks Ltd.
