Dave Helm - the sales & marketing director at Blue Logic.

Blue Logic interview: Why Yorkshire businesses outsource their IT services

Set up in 2007, Blue Logic is an IT Solutions provider that has significantly grown in the last eight years, and is now one of the leading IT Support and Network Solutions companies within Yorkshire.

Dave Helm, the sales & marketing director, recently spoke with Bdaily about why many businesses throughout the region are looking at IT solutions as a major role in their business strategies, and how Blue Logic has made its way to the top of the growing sector.

In 2014, Blue Logic was able to increase its turnover by £1.28m to £5.8m (13%) – an increase of 36% on the previous year. Dave Helm shared his thoughts on this: “The success of Blue Logic’s rapid growth can be attributed to a number of areas. One in particular is the Marketing Division who has worked tirelessly to develop and implement a strategy that ensures Blue Logic is recognised as Yorkshire’s leading IT solutions provider. This has been achieved though harnessing different marketing channels such as digital, PR and social media.”

Dave then added: “Another key area is delivery. We strive to deliver a first-class service, which is reflected by our high customer retention rate. The customer always comes first for Blue Logic and as long as we have this principal in place we will always do well in business. Over the years we’ve built on our reputation as being an honest, reliable and forward-thinking IT company. This has really helped us to advance in the marketplace and provide a key differentiator.”

Moving forward, Dave revealed: “Blue Logic’s strategy to maintain this level of success involves enhancing our current service offering to be more in-line with market demands. We’re finding that the requirements of larger businesses have shifted and they are now looking to implement fully managed services so we become their IT division. This involves taking full responsibility for all IT, including staff, ensuring their infrastructure is developed to deliver maximum performance and agility, which complements their objectives.”

In 2014, Blue Logic added 83 new customers from a wide range of sectors to its already impressive client database - a clear sign that IT is top of the agenda for businesses across Yorkshire. Dave explained: “From our perspective, the marketplace seems more buoyant, with businesses looking to undertake more IT projects designed to enhance their business performance.”

When I asked what services Yorkshire businesses use most frequently, Dave replied: “The biggest one for Blue Logic is still IT support. A lot of companies still want a partner who can help support their whole IT infrastructure giving them peace of mind while they continue to run and grow their business.”

As for 2015, Dave told Bdaily that Blue logic are looking to grow by 20% across the group.
