Leader In Your Field? Growing Faster Than The Speed of Light?

The Real Business Growing Business Awards, held in association with Lloyds Bank and supported by the CBI, is now open for entries. The awards, designed to recognise the organisations and individuals that are driving the UK economy, open following reports from the CBI of increasing levels of growth across all main sectors.

The awards, first held 17 years ago, received a record number of award entries last year. Winners included First Utility, the UK’s largest and fastest-growing independent energy supplier, awarded Growing Business of the Year: Larger Company (turnover £50m+), and Watchfinder, which took home Retail Hero. There are 15 categories in total, including Brand Builder of the Year, Young Entrepreneur of the Year and Digital Champion. The two new categories for 2015 are B2B Business of the Year, which recognises exceptional, high-growth, innovative B2B businesses with the potential to scale, and Micro Business of the Year, designed to celebrate small but perfectly formed companies with a maximum of ten staff.

The winners will be announced at a gala awards dinner and ceremony taking place at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square on 26th November 2015.

Matthew Fell, CBI Director for Capital Markets, said: “Britain’s scale-up businesses have a huge role to play in continuing to drive growth and create jobs right across the country. Each year, the Growing Business Awards showcase the very best of the talent and ingenuity of our small firms. We wish all nominees the best of luck.”

Amy Carroll, Head of Events, Caspian Media, adds: “The Growing Business Awards are the most well established, highly respected recognition of SME and entrepreneurial success in the UK. While we’re proud of this heritage we’re always taking steps to keep the programme fresh, hence the new categories for this year. Smaller organisations are playing an increasingly important role, so entrants to the Micro Business of the Year category will be particularly interesting ones to watch.”
