Barratt Bristol wins awards in national housebuilding competition

Site managers working for local housebuilder Barratt Bristol have scooped four prestigious awards in a national competition to find the best-run building sites in Britain.

Martin Beard, Ben Tottle, Marinko Tomic and Paul Cromey gained official recognition for the excellence of which they run their developments with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Martin works at the award-winning Hanham Hall development in Bristol with Ben based at Autumn Brook in Yate, Marinko is site manager at the King’s Down development in Bridgwater and Paul is site manager at Phoenix, also in Bridgwater.

The four winners were joined by site managers working for Barratt Group across the UK, which have scooped more than 80 awards for quality workmanship.

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. They are awarded after the construction standard setting body National House-Building Council (NHBC) carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments.

Thousands of site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

The site managers will now go forward to the final round of the competition which will select the best site manager in Britain.

Barratt Bristol managing director Russell Glimstead said he was delighted that local site mangers have again been judged as among the best in the housebuilding industry. “The official recognition of the jobs which our winning site managers are doing, shows that Barratt Bristol is building some of the best quality homes in the country.

“The site manager plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality new homes and that is why we are so delighted with these national awards.

“This is truly an outstanding result and one which should inspire confidence in our buyers.”
