Dignitaries officially open new South Tyneside business centre

Business people from across the North East joined dignitaries on South Tyneside last week to celebrate the official launch of Clervaux Exchange, the region’s newest business centre.

The Lord Mayor, Richard Porthouse, accompanied by the Lady Mayoress, Patricia Porthouse, cut the ceremonial ribbon at Clervaux Exchange declaring the building officially open and ready to welcome businesses.

Situated on Clervaux Terrace, the former old police station was bought by Sovereign Adavo – a company specialising in renovating and retrofitting grandiose buildings of by-gone years, transforming them into modern business centres – in May 2014. Over a year later and following an extensive refurbishment program, the company has transformed the building into a state-of-the-art business centre while retaining much of its unique and original features.

Mark Black, Managing Director of Sovereign Adavo said: “We’re passionate about the North East and the region’s entrepreneurial spirit, and so we’re driven to provide businesses with the best springboard possible to help them get their companies off the ground, grow into the future and support the region’s economy. It’s about bringing big business back to the North East – give them a home, they’ll grow and they’ll stay – just look at the likes of Sage.

“Following the success of an earlier project at the Town Hall in Wallsend, I’m delighted to officially open Clervaux Exchange and provide more North East businesses – whether starting out or already on their way – with a home that provides a solid foundation for development.

“We’ve already welcomed our first tenant into Clervaux Exchange and are receiving lots of enquiries too. I’m confident the halls will be brimming with businesses in no time and making a positive contribution to the North East’s economy over the years to come.”

Clervaux Exchange comprises of 47 units with office space from two to six persons, as well catering for larger organisations with use of the Grand Chamber and Boardroom facilities. All of the offices and suites have been refurbished to the highest specification with rent fully inclusive of rates, utilities and broadband as well as telephone lines and office furniture.

As well as the physical office space afforded at Clervaux Exchange, Sovereign Adavo also offers a Virtual Office facility. For a nominal fee, start-up companies setting out on their new business ventures can register for a telephone number and physical address at Clervaux Exchange, giving them the credibility of a larger outfit while working from home, as they develop and grow to a point where they are then ready to move into a physical office space.
