Run Your Own Pub With The Pub Landlord

Paul Austen, a Congleton-based entrepreneur has unveiled a first of its kind app – allowing users ‘real time’ experience of taking on their own back street pub or high street bar, with all the challenges it brings.

Called The Pub Landlord and making its debut on the App Store this week, the app allows you to select your stock levels, choosing from cheap, mid range or premium ranges of beers, wines, spirits and snacks, making sure you can balance the books and get maximum return on each day’s trading.

As the landlord, you also hire your own staff, selecting the appropriate employees for the job - male and female bar staff and a stock manager, depending on your budget and pub’s performance.

You even get to run your own events from live football and rugby nights to karaoke evenings, quiz nights and pool tournaments.

Paul, who is a chartered accountant by profession, conceived and developed The Pub Landlord after being brought in as a senior business advisor by a number of his clients who operate licensed premises.

Explaining further Paul says: “Many people dream of running their own pub or bar, and I have developed The Pub Landlord to give people a taster by simulating the day to day operation in real time – with stock levels and staff to manage and events to host.

“The app itself has been developed to be fun and highly visual, with ‘as it happens’ notifications built in for maximum engagement with the user.

“It has been built with wide appeal and use by a broad target audience from those who just enjoy the challenge, to people who are considering entering into the licensing trade, or even business students looking for case study experience.”

The Pub Landlord sends you notifications of stock levels as well as keeping you fully informed on incidents such as brawls in the pub as well as alerts on stock levels so you can keep on top of operational issues and make sure you are doing a roaring trade!

As you earn more points you build up cash reserves and your pub’s reputation allowing you to move up a level, taking on a gastro pub or a ‘swanky bar’.
