Durham’s The Works merges with Alnwick web development company

Durham-based creative agency The Works has merged with a web development company from Alnwick to expand its digital offering to clients.

The Works, based in Lambton Park in Chester-le-Street, had worked together with the .NET specialists Chocolate Grape on a number of client projects for several years before deciding to form the new company earlier this year.

The move sees web development and digital services added to The Works’ in-house service offering of PR, advertising and creative design.

Since its formation, the new partnership has already added several clients to its portfolio, including Gateshead College, Northumberland Estates and Cestria Community Housing. As a result, eight new members of staff have been added to the team with the agency on the lookout for more web developers to keep up with increasing client workload.

The Works Digital joins The Works Advertising and The Works Design & Print to make up The Works Group, with the staff priding themselves on being able to provide a seamless service between these companies for all clients, depending on their requirements.

Barry Pollock, managing partner at The Works Group, said: “The partnership was a very natural progression for us. We had been working with the team at Chocolate Grape for a number of years, and by combining the two agencies, it now means the services we offer are stronger than ever for both new and existing clients.”

Tim Mather, managing director of The Works Digital, added: “Since joining forces we haven’t stopped - it’s an exciting time for everyone involved. The combined services that we now offer work really well for our existing clients, but also for the new clients – they see us as their one-stop-shop!”
