Omlis Continues Expansion with Four New Recruits
Omlis today announced the appointment of four new additions as they execute their growth plans for 2015. The appointments of Tim Smith, David Wright, Chris Lemin and Kevin Bolam to architect and developer roles within their expanding technology department is evidence that the Newcastle based mobile payments encryption pioneers are still on track to achieve their growth targets.
Led by Newcastle born entrepreneur, Markus Milsted, Omlis have signed significant partnership agreements in Europe, the Middle East and South America in the past twelve months. This has seen the ambitious Newcastle based start-up explode from two to over fifty fulltime employees in under fifteen months, with no signs of slowing down.
Tim Smith, an experienced Software Architect joined Omlis from Airbus Defence and Space GEO as Lead Architect with over fifteen years’ experience in various programming, developer, consultant and architectural roles. A chartered Engineer, Tim holds a PhD in Hull Form Design from Newcastle University.
“Omlis is one of the most exciting companies operating in the North East today and I am thrilled to be part of something so fresh,” said Mr. Smith.
“To work with a dynamic leader like Markus is brilliant. His enthusiasm for Omlis and the North East digital sector is infectious, making my decision to join his organization a very easy one.”
Also joining the technology development team is David Wright, as a Senior Software Developer. He brings over seventeen years’ experience in sales, project management and client services. David is a highly qualified analyst and architect with a BSc in Chemistry and an MSc in Computing from Northumbria University.
Mr Wright said of his new role, “Omlis is a young company disrupting the payments security space and that is exciting. The opportunity to learn and apply new technologies to a complex marketplace is rare in the North East and this is why they are able to consistently attract the best talent in the region.”
Meanwhile Kevin Bolam and Chris Lemin join Omlis as Software Developers. Kevin has a robust computer games and software programming background gained at Gaia Technologies and Loyalty Logistix respectively as well as a BSc in Computer Games Programming from Staffordshire University. With a BSc in Computer Games Software Engineering from Northumbria University, Chris is a software developer with over six years’ software development experience within a Microsoft / UNIX / Linux development environment. Chris previously worked at Accenture as an Analyst Programmer and joins Omlis most recently from Petards where he was a Software Engineer.
“As we continue to execute our growth plans, the market opportunity has never been more evident and it’s no surprise that we are now attracting the best talent locally and nationally,” said Markus Milsted, Founder and CEO of Omlis.
“We are still actively recruiting and welcome the best talent in the region to join us on our mission to address the pressing need to eradicate the massive cost of fraud across the globe.”
Based in the heart of Newcastle Upon Tyne and globally recognized as pioneers of the high integrity process for securing mobile payments, Omlis believe that the rise in digital fraud and the increased publicity given to ever-increasing data breach incidents will continue to be the catalyst for their accelerated growth as they deliver encryption technologies constructed to provide absolute device and transaction security.
