Keepmoat reach major milestone with Hull housing scheme

Keepmoat, a building and regeneration specialist, has reached a major milestone after giving the keys away to its 500th home in Hull.

The housing scheme, which started construction in 2009, is part of the wider Newington and St Andrews project in West Hull and showcases several years of commitment from both Public and Private sector organisations, working together with the community to develop and create a new neighborhood.

Mariusz and Monika, the 500th home buyers, are enjoying their new home at The Hawthornes at Amy Johnson development in Hull – a site of two and three bedroom homes just a couple of miles from the city centre.

The couple purchased a three-bedroom Oakhurst house, which is a three storey semi-detached property. Houses at The Hawthornes at Amy Johnson have a starting price of £95k - ideal for first-time buyers looking to get on the property market and families.

Monika said: “We have some friends who had recently purchased a property from Keepmoat and we were very impressed with how wonderful their new home was. We were previously renting nearby and were keen to stay in the area.”

“We know Hull well as we have been here a number of years; the property was well priced and the location was absolutely perfect for us.”

Monika added: “Joan, the sales executive, has been absolutely great. She’s been a big help answering all of our questions and we completely trusted her to guide us through the process.”

Mark Knight, regional managing director at Keepmoat, said: “Our business is thriving in Humberside and it’s down to the fact that we are able to provide high-quality affordable housing, helping families take that first step onto the property ladder.

“After being appointed by Hull City Council as preferred developer in 2007, it really is fantastic for us to complete on our 500th property in the region. The team is very much looking forward to the future and we have lots of exciting projects in the pipeline, providing much needed homes as well as an economic boost in the form of employment and training opportunities for local people.

“We’d like to wish Mariusz and Monika and their son every happiness in their new home.”
