Leeds-based home tech specialist see 40% growth in turnover

Finite Solutions, a home technology installation specialist, has increased its turnover by more than 40% after securing major contracts for high tech home improvements.

The Leeds-established business reported a turnover of £2.7m for its 2015 year end, which is a major increase from £1.95m in 2014.

FInite Solutions is now placed high in the industry performance ranking with the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) recording a UK average of £1.54m turnover in 2014.

Finite has seen a like for like growth across all three of its offices covering the lucrative areas of Yorkshire, Cheshire and London.

Among the contracts include a £300k installation at a manor house in York, a £350k contract in Fulham, London, and a £250k installation in Hale, Cheshire, along with a number of smaller projects too. Projects to transform cellar spaces are particularly popular in London as space is at a premium.

Finite Solutions aim to keep this momentum going and expect to achieve a £3.5m turnover for 2015/16. The business has also set a target of £4.5m for 2016/17.

The UK residential custom home installation sector is now estimated to be worth around £1.07bn according to CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association). Audio visual projects still account for nearly 50% of all installations in the UK with home cinemas/media rooms taking a 21% slice and lighting control/design the second most popular at 12%.

Simon Mathieson, director at Finite Solutions, said, “Homeowners are investing in future proofing their properties to retain value. We are securing major contracts to install security, audio visual, home cinema and lighting and in many cases to deliver all of these elements for whole house integration. The transformation of a spare room, loft space, cellar or garage to become a high tech home cinema, games room or ‘man cave’ is very popular. Lighting also now accounts for 20% of most installation costs as clients have a better appreciation of how transformational this can be and we have a dedicated resource for this.”

Mathieson continued: “We are delighted to announce fantastic growth in the business. We have invested majorly in enhancing our skills and capabilities and can confidently deliver the very best in technology for whole house integration. Through growing our presence and team expertise we are able to better serve a national and sometimes international client base. In the last year alone we have grown from 18 to 30 people.”
