Roan strikes Gold for the second year running
Roan Building Solutions has once again been recognised for its commitment to health and safety with the achievement of a gold occupational health and safety award by the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA).
This is the second year running that the UK-based company has won gold. The award will to be presented to Roan at RoSPA’s annual ceremony which will be held at the Hilton Glasgow on September 17 this year.
The RoSPA Award scheme is one of the largest and longest-running programmes of its kind. Recognising commitment to preventing accident and ill health, the award is open to businesses of all types and sizes across the UK and overseas.
Matthew Goff – director at Roan Building Solutions – says: “Health and safety in the construction industry has to be at the forefront of any supplier’s mind. Although we provide a fast-tracked modern method of construction, many of our projects involve building near children and other members of the community so we cannot cut corners when it comes to health and safety.
“Our procedures, such as ensuring our on site team wear numbered shirts so they are easily identifiable, have to be followed rigorously at all times to ensure everyone is safe. It is all part of our commitment to deliver world-class services,” says Matthew.
Aisling Cox, SHEQ officer at Roan, explains: “Roan is fully committed to promoting and improving health and safety standards. We are continually helping to prevent pollution, injury and ill-health through our team.
“Receiving the RoSPA gold award for the second consecutive year shows we are committed to instilling top health and safety standards within our workforce,” says Aisling.
The award scheme assesses a company’s accident records as well as health and safety management including important factors such as strong leadership and workforce involvement.
David Rawlins – RoSPA’s awards manager – says: “The RoSPA awards encourage improvement in occupational health and safety management. Organisations that gain recognition for their health and safety management systems – such as Roan Building Solutions – contribute to raising standards overall and we congratulate them.”
