Gunroom launched at Doxford Hall
Doxford Hall has opened a gunroom as base to meet the growing demand for shooting enthusiasts in Northumberland.
The recently installed facility allows guests who have come to enjoy shooting on nearby estates to safely bring and store their guns during their stay.
The gunroom is said to have a distinct sporting feel with decor and furnishings to match the country house feel of the sport.
Located less than 10 miles North of Alnwick the hotel and spa,, which opened six years ago, employs in the region of 45 full time and 30 part time members of staff.
Mark Booth, the General Manager at Doxford Hall, said: “Shooting is a popular activity in Northumberland and the Borders, with many farms and estates operating successful and popular shoots during the season.
“Many of our guests have brought guns, in the past, and we have had a gun cabinet to store them. Now I’m pleased to say, we can accommodate them in a fully-fledged gun room, where shotguns can be cleaned by guests and stored after a day’s shoot.”
