Harrogate ventilation manufacturer sees 40% sales growth

EnviroVent, the Harrogate-based manufacturer of ventilation systems, has reported 40% growth in sales to electrical wholesalers and contractors since opening a new Distribution Centre one year ago.

The multimillion pound purpose-built distribution centre, located on Hornbeam Business Park, has created four new jobs and assisted the company expand to offer a new range of ventilation equipment to trade customers.

EnviroVent also uses the Distribution Centre to training courses for installers across the country to gain skills and qualifications in the installation of ventilation systems.

Overall, the company has seen profits grow overall by 78%.

Among EnviroVent’s success stories is the private housebuilding market, where sales have increased by 171%. In addition, EnviroVent’s exports have also risen by 374%, which includes selling to new markets in France, Ireland and Australia.

Furthermore, the company has increased its business with homeowners and private landlords in the UK by 33% and raised the number of EnviroVent franchises which sell to the domestic market.

To meet business demands, EnviroVent has created 30 new positions across the business, with the company now employing 230 people.

Andy Makin, managing director of EnviroVent, said: “We have seen phenomenal growth of our distribution division in its first 12 months and are very excited about its future. This trend has been replicated across the rest of the business too, as we have been able to expand our presence in existing and new markets. The fact that people are becoming more aware of the need for good indoor air quality has certainly helped, as homeowners are recognising how poorly ventilated homes with condensation and damp issues can lead to health issues.”

Makin added: “It has been a very exciting 12 months and our growth is testament to the commitment and expertise of our staff. It is fantastic to be able to create new employment opportunities in the local area and to continue to invest both in our business and our people. We have a number of new products planned for release in the coming months and we expect these will help us make further gains in the market.”

EnviroVent is committed to investing in Research and Development and last year increased spend in this area by 46%. The energiSava 250, an innovative heat recovery system launched in early 2015 into the new build sector, proved to be a huge success and secured significant sales in its first six months.
