Gulftainer’s Khorfakkan Container Terminal Wins ‘Shipping Port Of The Year’ Honour At 2015 Scata
Gulftainer, a privately owned, independent terminal operating and logistics company, achieved another milestone with its Khorfakkan Container Terminal (KCT) chosen as ‘Shipping Port of the Year’ at the annual Supply Chain & Transport Awards (SCATA).
Mr. Paul Hennessy, Gulftainer’s Operations Manager, UAE Terminals; and Mr. Dan Wright, KCT’s Terminal Manager, received the award at the Supply Chain & Transport Awards ceremony held on April 22 at InterContinental Dubai Festival City.
The SCATA ‘Shipping Port of the Year’ is awarded to the shipping port or terminal that has delivered world-class services and facilities across the Middle East in the past 12 months, to honour its exceptional performance in the field of terminal management.
The only fully fledged operational container terminal in the UAE located outside the Strait of Hormuz, KCT has been one of the most important transhipment hubs for the Arabian Gulf, the Indian Sub-continent, the Gulf of Oman and the East African markets; due to its unique geographic location.
