Middlesbrough removals firm to create 10 new jobs following acquisition

Middlesbrough-based removals firm Pearson is looking to expand its Middlesbrough operations following the company’s acquisition this week.

Stephen Hayward acquired the company and, as a result, around 10 more jobs are being created for the area, prioritising the recruitment of HGV drivers.

Pearson’s new owner Stephen Hayward has held a number of senior roles within the Logistics Sector; including MD of Palletline PLC during its formative years and MD of Christian Salevesen’s UK Transport business.

Commenting on the acquisition of Pearson, Hayward said: “This is a great business with terrific growth potential, based on delivering outstanding service to customers, and I am proud to be the new owner of a business moving towards its Centenary year in 2017 with youthful vigour!”

Frances Reed, Managing Director of Pearson added: “This is an incredibly exciting period in the timeline of our company. Stephen has tremendous energy and is truly inspirational.

“Our team encompasses almost 100 staff and every employee is fully committed to driving the company forward under Stephen’s stewardship”.

Pearson operates their International fleet from Middlesbrough where the business was founded, and also runs a Sales Centre based in Sutton Coldfield.

On the creation of new local jobs, Frances added: “I have spent many years with Pearson Home Moving as accounts manager, General Manager, Director and former owner.

“I have seen the company grow into one of Europe’s most successful removal companies and we will continue to grow with the recruitment of talented local people in our area”.
