Barratt Developments scoops two awards for Doncaster

Two talented Site Managers working in Doncaster have been recognised at a national housebuilding competition for their work at developments across the town. Neil Pendlebury and Steve Sharp both scooped an accolade at this year’s Pride in the Job awards, for their work at housing developments in Auckley.

The prestigious awards aim to find the best-run building sites in Britain and are awarded after the construction standard setting body - the National House-Building Council (NHBC) - carries out a series of spot check site inspections to select the best-organised and best-quality housing developments. Neil Pendlebury at Horizons as well as Steve Sharp at Pembridge Park in Auckley, Doncaster, gained official recognition for the excellence of which they run their developments with a Pride in the Job Quality Award.

Rhoddy MacKinnon, Construction Director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire East, commented: “The two Barratt Development winners in Doncaster were joined by our site managers working for Barratt Group across the UK at the awards – in total we’ve scooped a massive 81 accolades across the UK this year, so we’re delighted with the result. These industry awards are testament to the hard work and dedication that our teams exercise day in and day out. We are extremely proud of their achievements and are pleased to see them recognised by such a respected industry body.”

The Pride in the Job Quality Awards are the most coveted in the housebuilding industry. Almost 15,000 site managers throughout the UK were judged on every aspect of their job, including technical skill, quality workmanship, customer service and site safety.

The two site managers will now go forward to the final round of the competition, which will select the best site manager in Britain.
