Leeds accountants limber up for 10K charity challenge
A team of runners from Baker Tilly in Leeds are limbering up for the Leeds 10K Corporate Challenge which takes place this Sunday.
Twenty-two of the firm’s intrepid accountants, tax advisers, corporate financiers and insolvency specialists will be running for Hollybank Trust – a registered charity and care home, specialising in caring for children and young adults with multiple and profound disabilities.
Jim Whittaker, Corporate Finance Partner at Baker Tilly in Leeds who is taking part in the event said: ‘This Sunday, we’re going to put down our calculators and briefcases in order to sweat it out in our trainers for 10km for what we all know to be the best of causes.
‘The training has been tough – we’ve been running five kilometres up the canal and five kilometres back every Monday night, but it’s been a great way of bringing together members of staff from our two Leeds offices, and we are all determined to make it to the finish line.’
Julie Shaw Head of Fundraising at the Hollybank Trust said ‘I am delighted that Hollybank is being represented in such a fantastic way - thank you to all the runners and to everyone who has sponsored them.’
People wishing to sponsor the runners are encouraged to visit the Baker Tilly Leeds 10K justgiving page.
