Barratt Yorkshire West director’s £40k charity cycle

A director at Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has helped to raise over £40,000 for charity after taking part in a team cycle through France.

The cycle saw Technical Director Dave Hudson pedal over 300 miles across France in aid of Endeavour, a UK charity dedicated to providing challenges and inspiration to young people excluded from society The ride, which commenced in London, saw the group of 45 cyclists travel more than 300 miles through the rolling French countryside over the course of three days; concluding in the same vein as the Tour de France, with riders passing the finish line in Paris.

The £40,000 raised by the team will be donated to Endeavour, a national educational charity working at grass roots with some of the most disadvantaged and disaffected young people across England, providing personal and social development programmes for young people who are getting few or no opportunities to reach their potential For more information on Barratt Developments, visit www.barrattdevelopments.co.uk.

Dave Hudson, Technical Director of Barratt Developments’ Yorkshire West division, commented:

It was great to get out on the road and raise money for a great cause. Endeavour do a brilliant job, so as a keen cyclist, to get the chance to raise money while enjoying some of the French countryside’s most iconic routes was a real thrill. Raising £40,000 really did exceed our wildest dreams; we’re hugely proud and know the funds will be put to good use. Even though the ride was tough, it had some real high points, it was exhilarating to complete the cycle under the Eiffel Tower and I even managed to hit a top speed of 54mph on the ride, something I’ve never managed before!
