Northampton Manager awarded prestigious international trade qualification

A Northampton based International Logistics Operations Manager is celebrating after scooping a top prize at the Institute of Export’s (IOE) recent graduation ceremony.

Lynsey Townsend from Mothercare International, the iconic childcare equipment provider, was awarded ‘The Croner - a Wolters Kluwer business prize’ for outstanding achievements in the Institute’s Foundation Degree course.

She joined leading figures from the world of international trade for a lavish awards ceremony and reception held at the Lord Mayor of London’s residence, Mansion House, London.

Commented Lynsey “Having worked in international trade for a number of years, I knew that I wanted to further my knowledge and build a career in this sector. The Institute of Export Foundation Degree was exactly what I was looking for. “The course was very beneficial in helping me to relate to everyday circumstances both within my company and the wider global marketplace. This sector is forever changing, but the knowledge and skills that I have gained means that I am in a good position to be able to respond effectively.”

Lesley Batchelor OBE, director general of the Institute of Export, said: “Congratulations to Lynsey and to all of the graduates. The year-on-year increase that we continue to see in our enrolment figures clearly demonstrates that businesses understand and agree with the need for embedded professionalism in international trade and recognise that our globally acknowledged qualifications equip students with the necessary skills, knowledge and expertise to work effectively in this sector.”
