Lucy Cleghorn, Richard Greensit, Victoria Lowrie, Rachael McCartney, Steven Roper, Gemma Wood, are now all Associate Solicitors at the firm’s Newcastle office.

The six lawyers operate in a wide range of different practice areas across the firm in different office centres and their promotions demonstrate the breadth of services which Ward Hadaway offers to clients.

Lucy Cleghorn works in the Commercial Litigation team and has experience of advising on a wide range of commercial disputes including professional negligence and contractual disputes for individuals and businesses of all sizes.

Healthcare specialist Richard Greensit acts on behalf of many NHS Trusts, the NHS Litigation Authority and the Medical Protection Society in the defence of high value clinical negligence litigation. He also provides representation for health Trusts at inquest and advice on complex healthcare issues.

Victoria Lowrie is part of the Property Litigation team where she acts for commercial landlords and tenants, lenders, public sector clients and private individuals in a variety of property disputes.

Employment lawyer Rachael McCartney advises a range of employers in the public and private sectors on issues such as discrimination and unfair dismissal claims and she also works with HR professionals providing support on day to day employment matters.

Steven Roper is a member of Ward Hadaway’s Company and Commercial team. His practice covers a wide range of commercial clients, from sole traders to PLCs, advising on contractual matters and corporate governance issues.

Gemma Wood is a specialist in insolvency and corporate recovery matters, advising a broad spectrum of clients in both a corporate and personal insolvency context and undertaking a range of associated complex investigatory work.

Jamie Martin, managing partner at Ward Hadaway, said: “We are delighted to announce these Associate promotions.

“We strive to ensure that Ward Hadaway is a place where talented lawyers can advance their careers and are rewarded for the work which they put in for the firm’s clients across the North and nationwide.

“All eight of our new Associates have demonstrated their expertise and aptitude in helping our clients achieve their goals and their promotions are thoroughly well deserved.

“The fact that many of those who have been promoted began their careers as trainees at the firm is particularly pleasing.

“We look forward to their continuing contributions to Ward Hadaway as a Northern law firm for national business.”
