175 miles cycled in just one day!
A peloton of 22 cyclists took on a gruelling charity challenge at the weekend and smashed their fundraising target!
The team of Rossington Wheelers set off at 6am on Sunday 12th July from Rossington and cycled to Flamborough Head and back - all in aid of Brain Tumour Research.
The 175 mile bike ride took the men and women 10.5 hours to complete with their current fundraising total currently standing at £3,894.94 for the charity researching the biggest cancer killer of the UK.
Two members of the group who took on the cycle with an incline of 1500ft were Ben and Martin from Doncaster based 8Point8 Support Ltd - a company specialising in telecoms, renewable energy and the broadcasting sectors nationally.
Ben Eaves, senior project engineer for the company said: “The cycle was pretty hard but we all worked as a team and all supported each other from the very start.
“We are delighted with the amount of funds we have raised so far - it would be great if we could break the £4,000 mark for such a worthy charity. Brain Tumour Cancer has impacted thousands of families in the UK and still only gets 1% of the national spend for cancer research.”
