Summer treat, get sand between your feet!

A local shopping centre is set to bring summer fun to shoppers next month, giving them access to ‘the beach’ no matter what the weather is like outside!

The Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley will play host to a giant sandpit fully equipped with buckets and spades for everyone to enjoy between the 1st and 15th of August outside of Iceland on the ground floor.

The shopping centre in the town centre will also be giving away five trips to the good old British seaside in their free prize draw. Shoppers could win trips to Llandudno, Blackpool, Southport, Scarborough or Whitby courtesy of Barnsley independent travel agents Greys Travel.

Each prize will also include a seaside inspired hamper to accompany the trip including a bucket and spade, sun cream, beach towel and much, much more!

Steph Higham, Alhambra Centre marketing manager said: “We are all really looking forward to bringing the beach to Barnsley. Children can come and play in the sand for free whilst parents and guardians can relax in Cafe Moda as well as entering our competition.”

If this wasn’t enough, there will be a kids club on Saturday 8th August (10am – 3.30pm) where youngsters will get the opportunity to get creative with sand art.

Steph concludes: “For our competition, two winners will be drawn on Monday 10th August and the remaining three winners on Saturday 15th August. We will be announcing these on our social media platforms and website, good luck to everyone.”
