Birkenhead health and safety company awarded Port Salford contract
Merseyside-based construction safety firm Innov8 has landed a contract that will see it providing principle design services for part of the £138m Port Salford project.
The Birkenhead company has been asked by Peel Group to help in the delivery of the Culina Logistics development, which will create 280 jobs when it becomes the development’s first tenant in 2016.
Once completed, Port Salford will provide 1,600,000 sq ft of warehouse space and create over 3,800 permanent jobs.
Innov8’s managing director, Alan Robson, said: “This is a significant contract for us to win and provides us with an even stronger foothold in the Port Salford development.
“We have been involved in a broad range of projects at the Port Salford site for the last four years and have assisted the Culina development during the design phase, supporting architects Fletcher Rae. We will continue to provide support until the completion date next summer.”
Alan added: “Winning this contract also puts Innov8 in an excellent position to secure further work in relation to the long-term development of the Port Salford site.”
The contract win represents Innov8’s first high-profile project offering principle design services, after the Health and Safety Executive overhauled the current regulations governing Construction Design Management.
Alan said the firm, which was acquired recently by Lucion Environmental Ltd, prides itself on delivering a proactive, dynamic and independent service.
