Driver training is an important added value service offered by Driver Hire.

Bradford-based Driver Hire offers new Driver CPC choices

Clients of Driver Hire, the Bradford-based transport and logistics recruitment company, hwill now be able to benefit from its enhanced driver training service.

The improved service follows the launch of two new Driver CPC modules – in First Aid and Manual Handling. Both have been specifically developed with the needs of the road transport and logistics industry in mind.

Each new module offers dual certification, meaning that as well as counting towards the statutory 35 hours of Driver CPC training, if an exam is taken, the modules qualify the driver for an Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate (valid for three years) or a Manual Handling Certificate (valid for one year).

As well as adding new modules, the training team of Driver Hire has also been reviewing, updating and improving the firm’s range of industry specific Driver CPC courses, which include: fuel efficient driving, Drivers’ Hours, Road Transport Working Time Regulations, digital tachograph and Health & Safety at work.

Driver Hire Training’s Driver CPC network incorporates over 100 accredited trainers and covers the whole of the country.

Earlier this year the company completed 100,000 Driver CPC driver training days. Business has continued grow since then, with over 2,500 drivers attending more than 330 courses since the start of the financial year. Courses at its central training facility in Bradford are fully booked through to September with new dates being added.

Richard Armitage, director of Driver Hire Training, said: “All in all it’s proving to be a really exciting summer for Driver CPC training. Offices around the network are also reporting strong demand. We’re attracting new business from national companies and, doubly pleasing, there are plenty of existing customers re-booking for the next round of training. A recent JAUPT audit gave Driver Hire Training a massive thumbs up, confirming the quality and high standards of our Driver CPC training offer.”
