6 Wellington Place is expected to be completed in January 2016.

Equifax relocates to Leeds to support business growth

Business insights expert Equifax is relocating its Bradford office to Leeds city centre to support continued growth within the firm.

Equifax will move into the 19,784 sq ft of office space at 6 Wellington Place when the building is completed in January 2016.

Catering for 190 staff, the Leeds office will feature state of the art facilities including urban gardens, exercise classes and a 5-a-side floodlit football pitch.

The teams relocating include IT and data operations, as well as those which provide business analytics, insights and services for clients across the UK.

Leeds’ economy is worth £18bn and the city’s financial and professional services sector is expected to grow by 50% by 2022. Leeds is quickly establishing itself as an outstanding urban quarter and the business location of choice for many leading corporations.

Darrell Abbondanza, HR director, Equifax, said: “Thanks to our ongoing growth and business success, we are now in need of a new, larger office space. This high-tech development in such a prominent location is an attractive and fantastically well-equipped working environment for our existing team. This new facility will help us to retain the amazing talent we have already as well as allow us to attract a future pool of new talent to the business.

“The move will further establish Equifax as a leading data insights player in the financial sector, and support the continued expansion of our client base delivering information they can trust to help, for example, fight against fraud and facilitate responsible lending.”

James Dipple, chief executive of property investment and development firm MEPC, which manages 6 Wellington Place, added: “This is the second significant pre-let at 6 Wellington Place, further demonstrating the demand being seen in the Leeds market for quality facilities. We welcome Equifax to the Wellington Place community, which is already home to a number of other leading companies such as SkyBet, Shulmans, Towers Watson, Irwin Mitchell and Allianz.

“Equifax, its customers and employees will not only reap the benefits from their new high quality energy efficient office space and the prime city centre location, but by being part of the vibrant business community we are growing at Wellington Place.”

Situated on the newest public square in Leeds, Tower Square, 6 Wellington Place will feature a floor to ceiling atrium, roof terrace, retail space and an ideal location, just 400m from Leeds City train station. It forms part of the 22 acre Wellington Place development, being managed by MEPC and jointly owned by Hermes Investment Management and Canada Pension Plan Investment Partnership (CPPIB).
