Meadowhall Shopping Centre appoint CBRE for £1.4m project
British Land has appointed the Leeds building consultancy team of CBRE as Contract Administrator and Principal Designer to manage the roofing works Meadowhall Shopping Centre in Sheffield.
The work will be undertaken by Leeds-based contractor, Everlast Waterproofing Limited, with a contract value of approximately £1.4m.
This investment into one of the country’s most popular retail destinations includes the application of new roof finishes to approximately 40% of the shopping centre.
The project will involve over-roofing the original Trocal single ply membranes with a new Alumasc insulation board and bituminous felt roof covering.
This is just the latest collaboration in the long-standing working relationship between British Land and CBRE, who currently coordinate planned maintenance works across the British Land shopping centre portfolio, nationally.
The Meadowhall roofing works will commence on site this month and is scheduled to be completed by the end of March 2016.
Ben Rennocks, director at CBRE Leeds said: “We are delighted to be appointed by the Meadowhall team to administrate and act as Principal Designer on the completion of the fourth phase of roofing works at the popular shopping centre in Sheffield. The appointment will add to CBRE’s strong portfolio of planned maintenance works across the UK and we look forward to showcasing the completed roof in March 2016.”
