Williams Land Rover Drives Forward Business Competition

Major sponsor of this year’s hotly contested Manchester Executive MBA Challenge Williams Land Rover, has wished ten finalists luck as they embark on the toughest Summer of their professional careers.

After the four challenges are complete an ultimate winner will be announced who will receive the Williams Land Rover Executive MBA scholarship worth £17,200 at Manchester Metropolitan University for the October 2015 intake.

To be crowned champion, the finalists must participate in a series of four business games and challenges designed to reveal their individual leadership qualities and management skills.

Two runners-up will receive tuition fee scholarships of £4,000 each. The remaining finalists, who have completed all four challenges, will also receive tuition fee scholarships of £2,000 each.

Alexandra Cook, Development Director at the Williams Group, said: “This is a highly sought-after prize and only the elite make it onto the list of finalists. It will be close with this year’s group, each one of them emits fierce ambition, intelligence and drive.

“Williams Land Rover takes pride in supporting this esteemed competition and in helping business minded individuals achieve the absolute best education they can get. We wish them all well during these gruelling Summer tests.”

One contestant, Elizabeth Longwill, (36), from Sale, is excited for the challenge. She owns her own Design Agency called Chuffey and wants to use the opportunity to expand her network. She commented: “This will be great for both me and my business. I am looking forward to meeting other people and learning from them. I want to expand my brand and this scholarship will be key in helping me do that.”

Daniel Sheratte, MBA and Masters Development Manager at Manchester Met, said: “Our AMBA-accredited Executive MBA programme is highly respected by professionals, attracting executives from all over the UK, across Europe and from the Middle East for our workshops in Manchester. The finalists have already demonstrated high levels of excellence by being chosen to compete in the Manchester Executive MBA Challenge 2015.

“They will be put through their paces to demonstrate their management capabilities and leadership potential, replicating the demands and rewards they would face as a student on our MBA programme.

“Congratulations to all of the finalists and we wish them the best of luck.”
